I admit As Transparent as I have been and am about this journey I didn’t think I would be as self conscious as I was about all the different changes my body has been through and is going through… but After I had My Mastectomyyyyyy I’m Ready to Share That I Was Absolutely In the Shock of My Life!!!
And Realized I had to Truly Learn to BE OKAY WITH ME & MY BODY!!
Q&A: Yes! I had a Mastectomy w/Expander Placement…The expander is used to stretch the chest wall in preparation for reconstruction. Is It Uncomfy at times YES! lol But Im adjusting and No Its Not Fully Expanded as of yet…Why? Because I Wasn’t Ready I was still in a-lot of pain after surgery and knew I still had to do radiation therapy…BTW 10 Treatments Left! #JStrong
Remember Loves…It’s OKAY to Advocate for When YOU ARE READY! For Me If There Was No Rush to Do Anything…I Wasn’t Rushing It! & Im Pleased w/the Choices Me! My Husband! & God Are Making!!
Not Everyone Gets Reconstruction Right Away and Neither Does Everyone Opt for It. No Matter The Choice! Just Let It Be YOURS & Do What You Need To Do In Order To Be Okay w/YOU On Your Journey Getting There!
One of Thee Best Ways That Helped Me BE OKAY w/Me was Sharing!! Getting The Help I Needed To Talk Open & Honest About How It Truly Felt to Loose Pieces of Me & To Gain! Allowing Myself to Shed As Many Tears As I Need/ed To! When I Need Too!! Having Safe Spaces Where I Can Talk or Even Cry Until I Exhale!! Because for Me I Always Feel Better When I Do
I will have my reconstruction one day but until I do…I’m Finally Happy to Say I’m OKAY WITH ME!! and Want to Encourage You All to BE OKAY WITH YOU TOO!
